Howard Weiner has been an attorney for more than a decade.  Before opening his own practice, he was an associate at several boutique litigation firms, working for some of the nation’s pre-eminent attorneys, including Litman, Asche & Gioiella, LLP, Joseph Tacopina, and a past President of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

He has worked on numerous internal investigations, and the representation of high profile clients from grand jury and Congressional investigations, to state and federal trials and appeals.  Some notable cases include: U.S. v. Charles Schwarz, et. al (member of team of attorneys which secured an acquittal for the alleged assault of Abner Louima and dismissal of the conviction for obstruction of justice charges); U.S. v. Paloscio (co-counsel with Joseph Tacopina, Esq. in organized crime murder in-aid-of racketeering trial in the Southern District of New York resulting in complete dismissal of murder charges); and People v. Yun Zapana (appeal of sentence in highly publicized “shaken baby” case reduced from 15 to 7 years in the interest of justice).

In his private practice, Mr. Weiner has represented clients in state and federal courts around the country emphasizing highly personalized attention.

Mr. Weiner has been quoted authoritatively by several publications, including The New York Times, The National Law Journal, and Gothamist.com, and published materials presented to attorneys at seminars for the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the American Conference Institute.

Howard Weiner is a Lifetime Member of The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) Legal Committee for New York and New Jersey, a Founding Member of DUI-HELP and GOTDUI, and and a member of The New York Criminal Bar Association, the National College For DUI Defense,  and the National Whistleblower Legal Defense & Education Fund.

Howard Weiner attended the George Washington University on a Presidential Scholarship and graduated from the University Honors Program in 1993. He attended Brooklyn Law School and received his J.D. in 1997. He is a graduate of the National Criminal Defense College’s Trial Practice Institute, which he attended as the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers Twelve Angry Men scholarship recipient.

Howard Weiner is a member of the New York Bar, the New Jersey Bar, and the State Bar of California, and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
